Mantsbrite wins new Tidal Transit wind farm vessel contract

Mantsbrite Limited, one of the UK’s leading distributors of electronic marine navigation and communication products, has won the contract to fit out the next Tidal Transit offshore wind farm personnel transfer vessel ‘Tia Elizabeth’.
All the navigation and communication equipment for the first two vessels in the Tidal Transit fleet - ‘Ginny Louise’ and ‘Eden Rose’ - was supplied and installed by Mantsbrite, and the specification for ‘Tia Elizabeth’ remains unchanged with the exception of the addition of a state-of-the-art seabed monitoring system and the use of new ultra sonic wind sensors.
As for the previous Tidal Transit contracts, Mantsbrite will assemble and test all the equipment in its workshops at Maldon in Essex. It will then be packed and shipped to the boat builders, Mercurio Plastics in Cartagana, Spain, to await the arrival of the Mantsbrite engineers who will undertake the installation and commissioning process.
“Over the last two years we have built a strong working relationship with Tidal Transit”, said Mantsbrite Managing Director David Ash.
He continued: “ We worked in close co-operation Leo Hambro and Adam Wright of Tidal Transit in developing the initial specification for what could in due course become a fleet of ten offshore wind farm vessels, and I am very pleased that no significant changes are needed now that the first two vessels have been in constant use since their arrival in the UK last year.”
Tidal Transit, which is based in Docking in North Norfolk, is expecting to take delivery of ‘Tia Elizabeth’ in May 2013.
